Lucan Credit Union Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Lucan District Credit Union this year celebrates its 50th year. To mark the occasion the Credit Union held a prestigious black-tie event in the Spa Hotel. It was attended by many of the original founding members, Mayor Paul Gogarty and Councillors Vicki Casserly and Emer Higgins.

“I was honoured to attend the Lucan District Credit Union’s 50th anniversary Ball this weekend with my colleague Cllr. Vicki Casserly. Its CEO Paula Maguire sure knows how to throw a party. I’d like to formally congratulate Chairman Enda Lee, Vice Chair Mary O’Neill, Operations Manager Pat Derwin, all the staff, board and founding members on a fabulous celebration and 50 successful years supporting families and charities across Lucan,” said Cllr. Emer Higgins who is a General Election candidate for the area.

“As a member of the Lucan Credit Union I know how valuable a resource it is for our community. On top of the loans they provide to local residents the Credit Union also supports many of us with our fundraising efforts. Lucan Credit Union has been a big supporter of Team James and our Barretstown fundraising, and I was delighted to support them as they marked their 50th anniversary,” said Cllr. Vicki Casserly who represents the Lucan area.
