CLONDALKIN
Emer works with Cllr. Kenneth Egan and Frances Fitzgerald T.D. in Clondalkin. She has represented Clondalkin on South Dublin County Council since 2014.
She supported local groups including Rally Round the Tower and the Clondalkin Heritage Group to protect and enhance the Clondalkin Round Tower which is now an award-winning interactive museum, Brú Chrónáin, and Happy Pear coffee shop.
Emer supports the Clondalkin Festival and the Clondalkin Tidy Towns.
In 2011, Emer worked closely with Frances Fitzgerald T.D. to ensure a Jigsaw centre was opened in Clondalkin to support young people's mental health.
Emer secured exercise equipment in Corkagh Park and at her request the Council run an Operation Transformation 5k in the park, which has since been granted a fairy wood. Emer worked with Kenneth Egan to deliver inclusive amenities such as a wheelchair accessible park bench in Corkagh Park and they are currently campaigning, along with Cllr. Vicki Casserly, for a sensory room to be included in the new library at Rowlagh.
Emer supports the to give Clondalkin village Gaeltacht status. She works with local residents, sports clubs, charities and businesses in the area to further improve Clondalkin village and its surrounds.
